At the beginning of the school year, well known insurance agent Lauren Yohman sent an email to local schools advertising a new intern position, offering students a chance to have real world experience in a formal work place. Yohman started with choosing eight students and will choose eight more in the Spring. Lauren promotes a healthy example for everyone to follow, after graduating from Washington and Jefferson college, she started her career in politics. After several years she decided it was time to move back home, settle down and raise a family. After noticing there was a lack of professional jobs in the area, she took a chance asking for an internship at an up and coming insurance agency. Realizing it was time to become her own boss and deciding that State Farm was a good fit, she opened her own agency downtown.
In addition to her family, nothing is more important to Lauren Yohman than the community she lives in. Over the past few months she has worked alongside a group of local business owners and church leaders to plan ”Xmas in the Square” which will help to restore life in downtown Uniontown for the holiday season. Interns work alongside one another to help plan and prepare for the event.
