We wanted to know students opinions and ideas on what we could do to make the world a better place so we asked several students the following questions.
What do you think we should do to make the world a better place?
Student 1 said: “I think in order to make the world a better place we should take care of poverty and help to distribute resources to assist other countries, maybe even make new bonds.”
Student 2 said: “People could pick up after themselves, and to stop cutting down so much of the woods.”
Student 3 said: “I think there should be a little more ruthless to people that were proven 100% guilty of a crime and not mess around for 20 years. It would make people not want to commit crimes if they know the punishment would be immediate and cruel.”
Do you think there should be recycling bins at every public building?
Student 1 said: “I do think there should be recycling bins in every building. They don’t have to enforce it like crazy, but keep trash controlled.”
Student 2 said: “Yes, I think there should because we need to really start recycling more.”
Student 3 said: “Yes, that would promote a healthy environment.”
Would it be a good idea to put little pieces of paper in public areas that have positive quotes on them or sayings to cheer people up?
Student 1 said: “Yeah, I think little motivational notes would be helpful and could cheer up some people.”
Student 2 said: “Yes, because it’s always nice to try to cheer someone up.”
Student 3 said: “No, I think it would lead to more littering. The best thing to do would be to put up posters or signs with the quotes.”
What are small easy things that every person could do everyday to make the world a better place?
Student 1 said: “Small things people could do to make the world a better place could be taking care of their community, greeting people, and donating to different charities, and for people to be mindful of what they do and say.”
Student 2 said: “People could always make sure to always turn the water off when they aren’t using it, turning off lights when you leave a room, and making sure to throw away the right things in the garbage cans and recycling bins.”
Student 3 said: “Sometimes people just need to take a joke and not take it so seriously, and people could be nicer and not be so rude when they are in a bad mood.”
If you had $5 million dollars where would some of the money go to help the world?
Student 1 said: “I would definitely donate a good portion of that money to various charities or programs.”
Student 2 said: “I’d donate money to the homeless shelter to make sure they have food and a bed to sleep on, and I would donate to a state park to make sure nature can survive.”
Student 3 said: “I would put money into researching and removing plastic off the ocean and limiting carbon dioxide.”
Any extra thoughts or ideas to make the world a better place.
Student 1 said: “I’d say if if there was less greed, hatred, and ignorance in this world it would be a much better place.”
Student 2 said: “Just try your best to always help people and when things get rough just keep moving forward, and don’t give up.”
Student 3 said: “Don’t give people power just because they’re a part of a small group or because they are popular, put smart people and kind people in power.”
