Students in Mrs. Marzano’s Graphic Design class recently had a project to design a T-shirt to sell for the Uniontown versus Laurel Highlands football game on October 26th. Each one of the students designed a graphic and voted amongst themselves to select the top designs. The winners were sent to the UHS football boosters and they chose their favorite design to produce into a T-shirt. Sophomore, Lindsey Frey, came up with the winning design with muscle clad indian and mustang ready to battle each other. She won an Applebee’s gift card for her work.
When asked about the project, Mrs. Marzano replied, “I always prefer for the students to work on actual products that will be used, have a purpose, and will be seen by others. It gives the students more incentive to produce a finished piece and is a great way to showcase their talent. This is just one of many ‘real life’ projects that students create including dance & event tickets and play & musical programs.”
