The Black Phone: Movie

The Black Phone is a 2021 American supernatural horror film directed by Scott Derrickson and produced by Jason Blum. Written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, it is an adaptation of the 2004 short story of the same name by Joe Hill. The film stars Mason Thames as an abducted child who can communicate with the past victims of his kidnapper, portrayed by Ethan Hawke. This movie contains a kidnapper that lures kids in and does magic tricks for them and lures them into his van and then takes them into a full cement basement, with a vault door. In the basement cell is a landline that isn’t connected to anything. This phone isn’t an ordinary phone, The other children he kidnapped in the past that all died communicate to the kid through the phone. They give him clues and hints to continue on with the progress that they already made trying to get out of the cell. The abducted child also has a friend that is also connected with the spirits, they come to her in her dreams and give her clues on where the abducted child is, and how to help him.

I wanted to make an article on this movie because I think it brings great awareness to the seriousness of kidnapping and the extremities kidnappers will go to to keep a child hostage and in their custody. This also reminds people to make sure they now where their kids are and who they’re with and to always be safe and to not talk to strangers no matter what they tell you
