The Pittsburgh Penguins held a conference on May 17th with all of the players. The media was able to ask each player and coach questions about their time as a penguin, how much longer they were going to play hockey, and their other teammates. Some of the big names the Penguins have are Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin which makes up the trio. The three of them have played for the Penguins for 16 years that’s the longest any teammates have played together in the NHL.
Sidney Crosby is the captain and one of the best players on the Penguins and in the world. He was asked a question about Letang and Malkin and he said, “I think we all feel the same way. We’ve been fortunate enough to play together for a long time. We understand that it’s not something that can happen forever, but hopefully a little bit longer. He was also asked how much longer he’d be playing hockey. His response was, “definitely 3-5 years maybe more.”
Kris Letang is a defenseman on the Penguins and seen as one of the best in the league. He was questioned about his career longevity. His response was, ” I feel really good. My body has been great for the last few years. I seen myself for four to five more years easily.” Evgeni Malkin is a forward and another big name in the NHL. During the conference he was asked about his time in Pittsburgh. He said, “Pittsburgh is my second hometown. I’ve been here for 16 years. It’s hard to understand what’s going on right now – we just lost a couple days ago. I hope we find a way to all be happy.” I hope to see the trio play a few more seasons together for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
