The Summit Race/Walk

On Sunday, May 1st, the Summit Inn will be hosting its annual summit walk. Participants will start at the bottom of the mountain and work their way up until they make it to the Summit Inn. You may walk or run depending on what you prefer. The entire course is around 3 miles long and winners will be named at the end of the race.

The walk up the mountain is not an easy one, with a drastic change in elevation with little to no flat areas means the course is almost completely uphill. If you are participating, make sure to hydrate adequately the day before and the day of to avoid any health emergencies like dehydration. Also, the course for the walk is alongside a busy highway, so use caution if participating and as always it is recommended to wear a high-visibility vest when running alongside a highway.

The Summit wasn’t able to host the event last year due to Covid-19 restrictions, but they’re happy to reopen this annual event this year. After the walk, the Summit will have Pizza, water, lemonade, and tea for all participants of the event. If you are a runner please feel free to come to the Summit Sunday and participate. And if you’re not, feel free to participate anyway; it is good exercise and a fun event to be apart of.
