The open house held on Tuesday, March 5 had a nice turn out of over 150 people. There was a good balance of people from the community. Many 8th graders and their families came to tour the building that they will be attending next year. Student volunteers acted as tour guides to assist visitors through the building. A slideshow showcasing students in the new classrooms was displayed in rooms with projection capabilities.
Senior Paige Tibbe showcased her art at an exhibit in the lobby. Art 2, 3 & 4 students held a showcase in the art room titled “L’art Dans Ton Coeur” (Art in your Heart). The Discovering Art class also created a piece entitled “Friendship Town”.
The National Art Honors Society held their induction ceremony. Student inductees are Paige Tibbe, Katie Burgers, Natalie Szewcyek, Andrea Lee, and Brianna Hunter.
The coffee shop was open providing complimentary coffee. The school store was open selling Uniontown apparel. A book fair was held in the library. Senior projects were also on display.
There was an FBLA and Band meeting for parents. The French club displayed posters and projects by french club members showing the community the importance of French. Madame Thomas stated “There was a lot of community support for French and the Art club.”
Some former students attended and were impressed by the renovations of the school! The open house was a successful evening and we would like to thank the students, teachers, alumni, and community members who attended.
