On Thursday December 13, the Uniontown Red Raider swimming and diving team participated in a non-section meet against The Big Mac’s from Cannon Mac. It was a very energetic meet, with much support from both teams and the spectators. The boys diving was won by Uniontown’s Danny Jones, with a score of 145.05, and girls diving was won by Cannon Mac’s Desiree Kline with a score of 160.30. Cannon Mac beat Uniontown with the final scores being, for boys, 129/44, and girls, 101/79.
Elizabeth Klingensmith qualified for W.P.I.A.L in the 100 butterfly, and Alex Meadows, Sarah Novak, Elizabeth Klingensmith, and Christina Homer qualified in the 200 medley relay. Alex Meadows came in first in the 100 backstroke, and Torie Miller, Christina Homer, Alex Meadows, and Elizabeth Kligensmith finished in first for the 200 freestyle relay. James Rabon won the boys 100 butterfly event.
Some of the girls beat their personal records at the meet, such as Bella Baker, Sydney Green, Jordan Guthrie, Deanna Hager, Elizabeth Kligensmith, Sera Meadows, Aspen Phillips, Hannah Pierce, and Alexis Wivell. Some of the boys also lowered their records last night. Logan Phillips, Nate Edenfield, Nathan Hager, Danny Jones, James Rabon, and Billy Seliga all achieved PR’s.
