There are a bunch of working students here at Uniontown High School. There is a little bit of a variety that the students can choose from when thinking about a job. There is fast food places such as McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King etc; then there is grocery stores like Shop n Save, Save-a-Lot, and Walmart; there are even places like Dunkin and Sweet Frog. Working while in high school can take a toll on your mental health but also can teach you some skills that you can carry with you throughout life.
Your mental health is very important. Working students sometimes can be diagnosed with depression or anxiety. The positive thing that come out of working while in high school. It can teach you skills like time management, responsibilities, budgeting, and even saving money. It can teach you the value of money once you start spending your own money.
Their day can be pretty packed, considering how much they want to work. They could go to school for 8 hours, they go to work right after for another 8 hours. Considering what time they get off, which most gets off at 10, thats not even including the time it takes for them to any homework they get, and getting ready for bed. It can get really stressful.
